Our Story
The Northern Lights coupon book provides Alaskans and tourists the best discounts on dining, coffee, recreation, lodging, and services. Started in the early 1980’s, it is now a local favorite for enjoying the best of the Last Frontier – for less!
What makes Northern Lights special is its win-win-win proposition. Alaskan businesses benefit from the advertising the book provides and the business it generates. Alaskan schools, sports clubs, and other non-profits benefit by helping sell books and receiving a portion of the proceeds. And Alaskans and visitors benefit by enjoying Alaska’s best eats, treats, tours, and services at a discount!
In 2018 the former owners decided it was time to retire, and the book was not published for 2018-2019. But Northern Lights was brought back by Luke Sorensen, Christopher Kies, and Steve & Ruth Templeton who partnered to continue the publication of the Northern Lights coupon book. Fast forward to 2022, and they have handed the baton to me, Mariella Kruger. I’m excited about the opportunity to offer this book and to partner with so many wonderful businesses, owners, schools, and groups.
